The Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigations (MNSI) programme is part of a national strategy to improve maternity safety across the NHS in England. We have now completed over 4700 investigations since we started in 2018.

This webinar will explore the findings from an MNSI briefing paper that explores remote hospital working and its impact on the provision of maternity and neonatal services. The session will examine the unique challenges faced by hospitals that are geographically remote, including multidisciplinary team working, emergency transfers, and workforce/service provision challenges. We will also talk through practical safety prompts designed to support conversations and promote a collaborative approach between remote and non-remote hospitals, helping to improve outcomes for women, babies and families.
