Commenting on the announcement of the Dash review into patient safety, Sandy Lewis, Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigation Programme Director said:

“The Maternity and Newborn Safety Investigation (MNSI) programme was set up to support and improve patient safety within maternity services in England. Our expert maternity investigators work closely with families and NHS trusts to develop recommendations that seek to improve the safety of mothers / birthing people and their babies both at a local and national level.

“We welcome the opportunity to explore how the role of the MNSI programme could be further developed so we can continue to support the safety of mothers / birthing people and their babies in England.”
