Claire Salgin

Neonatal Voices Partnership Lead, Bedford at Luton & Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board

Claire is a neonatal and paediatric nurse with over twenty years of experience working across special care, local neonatal units, and tertiary intensive care settings. Her career has included neonatal transport, community outreach, and the education and support of families navigating complex journeys in newborn care. These experiences have given her an appreciation of how clear, consistent safety communication can strengthen both clinical practice and outcomes.

As the mother of three daughters, one of whom spent six weeks in a neonatal intensive care unit, Claire has experienced the maternity and newborn pathway from “both sides of the incubator.” This perspective shapes her commitment to ensuring that safety learning remains both credible for professionals and meaningful for families.

She currently serves as Neonatal Voices Partnership Lead for Bedford, Luton & Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board, where she works to amplify parent voices and support service co-production. Claire is also Chief Executive Officer of STORKS, a national charity dedicated to advancing neonatal and paediatric care through education, research, and specialist transport support.
